Assemblymember David Alvarez Appointed Chair of Joint Legislative Audit Committee

Sacramento, CA – Assemblymember David Alvarez (D-San Diego) was appointed by Assembly Speaker Anthony Rendon as Chair of the Joint Legislative Audit Committee.

The primary jurisdiction of the Joint Legislative Audit Committee is to investigate, study, analyze, and assess the financial practices and performance of existing governmental and/or publicly created entities in California in order to assist those entities in fulfilling the purpose for which they were created by the Legislature.

Assemblymember Alvarez was also appointed to the Joint Legislative Audit Subcommittee on the Selection of the State Auditor. He also serves on the following legislative committees: Aging and Long-Term Care, Business and Professions, Military and Veterans Affairs, Rules and the Select Committee on California-Mexico Bi-National Affairs. Assemblymember Alvarez also serves on the CSG West Border Legislative Conference and the Colorado River Forum.
