Assemblymember David Alvarez Appointed to Key Outside Committees

Sacramento, CA – Assemblymember David Alvarez (D-San Diego) announced today that Speaker Anthony Rendon appointed him to the Border Legislative Conference -CSG West and the Colorado River Forum -CSG West.

I am thankful for this opportunity to serve on committees that impact the residents I serve,” said Assemblymember Alvarez.“I look forward to working with my committee colleagues to address complex issues that affect our region.”

The Border Legislative Conference serves as a binational forum in which legislators can identify policy solutions addressing the complex issues along the 2,000-mile U.S. – Mexico border region. Membership is comprised of legislators from the ten states along the U.S.-Mexico border.

Appointed members of the Colorado River Forum convene annually to examine the issues of water quantity and quality, state by state snapshots of water management tools and strategies, aquatic and other invasive species threats, engagement with tribes on priority concerns, and to develop regional approaches to collaboratively influence the rule-making that will govern the Colorado River into the future.

Assemblymember Alvarez also serves on the following committees: Aging and Long-Term Care, Business and Professions, Military and Veterans Affairs, Rules and the Select Committee on California-Mexico Bi-National Affairs.
