Due to sudden budgetary cuts and unprecedented demand for the Shared Appreciation Loan Program, we regret to inform you that the first-time homebuyer’s workshop is canceled.
The scaled-back loan program launched in late March, and the California Housing Financing Agency have reported an unprecedented amount of interest from prospective homebuyers. This led to program funds being exhausted in less than three weeks.
As your Assemblymember, I am committed to providing additional resources to individuals who are looking to purchase their first home in California. The rapid exhaustion of program funds demonstrates a significant need, and I will fight for additional funding for these types of programs in upcoming budgets.
