(Sacramento) - Assemblymember Eloise Gómez Reyes (D-San Bernardino) and the California State Assembly marked the start of Ramadan by passing Assembly Concurrent Resolution 233. “Ramadan is a time for reflection and spiritual discipline for Muslims around the world when they express their devotion to faith, family and service to the less fortunate,” Assemblymember Reyes said as she presented ACR 233. “The Muslim American community continues to be a pillar of California’s diversity, encompassing nearly every ethnic group of our state.” To hear more from the Assembly’s special ceremony on the beginning of Ramadan watch this Assembly Access video.
