(Sacramento) - Former Fox News host Gretchen Carlson, who blew the whistle on rampant sexual harassment at Fox News, joined Assemblywoman Lorena Gonzalez Fletcher (D-San Diego), California Legislative Women’s Caucus Vice Chair State Sen. Connie Leyva (D-Chino), and the California Labor Federation to voice support for Assembly Bill 3080. The bill, authored by Assemblywoman Gonzalez Fletcher, would bar California employers from forcing workers to sign away their legal rights as a condition of employment. Forced arbitration agreements often prevent victims of harassment from getting the legal justice they deserve. “Nobody should be forced to sign away their rights as a condition of taking a job,” Assemblywoman Gonzalez Fletcher said. “Countless people don’t have the luxury of picking and choosing what job to take. They’re just trying to make ends meet. That’s why these forced arbitration agreements are so exploitive.” Learn more in this Assembly Access video.
