Thursday, May 16, 2019

SACRAMENTO – (Thursday, May 16, 2019) – California Assembly Appropriations Committee Chair Lorena Gonzalez (D-San Diego) made the following statement upon adjournment of the Assembly Appropriations Committee Suspense File hearing. In total, 721 bills were considered and 472 advanced.

“Today the Appropriations Committee considered 721 bills authored by my Assembly colleagues, the most legislation to qualify for the committee’s suspense file in the last decade.

“I’m proud the committee advanced policies before the full Assembly that protect our environment, expand the availability of housing, support career development initiatives, target predatory lenders, and advance our efforts to provide health care for all. The bills approved today reflect our state’s values by expanding opportunities through policies that make a real difference in the lives of all California while balancing demands to best fund the priorities of the Assembly.”
