AB 1024: Attorneys' Right to Practice
Authorizes law licenses for noncitizens who pass the Bar Exam, allowing DREAMer students to practice law.

AB 1159: Notario fraud
Requires that lawyers and consultants performing services under pending federal immigration reform act abide by common sense business practices. Protections are estimated to cover more than 2.5 million potentially eligible Californians from the unauthorized practice of law by non-lawyers, fraud, and unnecessary mistakes that could jeopardize a client's pursuit of citizenship or – worse – result in deportation.

AB 1522: Earned Sick Days
Guarantees every private-sector employee in California the right to earn three paid sick days per year. The most expansive sick day legislation in the country extended this right to an estimated 6.5 million working Californians who previously had no right to take off work to care for a loved one or themselves without the possibility of losing pay or being fired.

AB 1873: VOTE Act to Allow for Mail Ballot Special Elections
Allows for the County of San Diego to send every voter during legislative special elections a mail ballot in an effort to increase voter participation and cut millions of dollars in costs. In addition to receiving a mail ballot, voters would have the opportunity to vote in per-son the weekend before an election and on Election Day at a select number of polling places.

AB 2104: HOA Water Conservation
Amid an ongoing water crisis, bans Home Owners Associations (HOAs) from fining homeowners who install drought-tolerant plants and landscaping.

AB 202: Professional Cheerleaders
Guarantees cheerleaders of professional sports teams are provided the same legal rights and benefits as other employees in the state after it was discovered that many teams weren't paying their cheerleaders fairly.

AB 303: Strip Search Conduct
Strengthens current law to prevent the unnecessary interaction between youth inmates and officers of the opposite sex when a strip search is being conducted in juvenile detention centers.

AB 349: Water Conservation at Home
Allows homeowners in HOAs to replace existing landscapes with synthetic turf as Californians seek to save water and money during this historic drought.

AB 359: Grocery Worker Retention
Allows grocery workers to keep their jobs during a 90-day transition period if their grocery store is sold.
